🌊 Surf City, NJ Storm Update A powerful nor’easter is hitting Surf City, New Jersey, and the Jersey Shore right now, bringing dangerous coastal conditions, strong winds, heavy rain and significant flooding concerns. The National Weather Service has a Coastal Flood Warning, High Surf Advisory and High Wind Warning in effect for the area. Videos coming out of Surf City on Long Beach Island show water pushing onto streets, with some roads reportedly becoming difficult or impossible to pass as storm surge moves in from the bay. The storm is expected to remain a major threat through the weekend. Along the nearby New Jersey coast, forecasters are calling for north winds around 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph, while offshore seas could reach 15–18 feet. The timing is especially concerning because higher full-moon tides are adding to the coastal flooding risk, allowing storm-driven water to build up through multiple high-tide cycles. For residents and visitors, officials are urging people to stay away from flooded roads and the surf.
