Remove your profile from PicMany

How to ask

1. Add picmany-remove anywhere in your Instagram bio. It shows us the request comes from someone who controls the account. This works for private accounts too, because Instagram shows the bio of public and private accounts to anyone. If your account is age- or region-restricted, Instagram does not show its bio to visitors who are not logged in, so say so in your email and we will agree another way to confirm it.
2. Email [email protected] from any address, with the profile's address on PicMany (for example https://picmany.com/yourusername) or its Instagram username.
3. We check your public profile for the phrase, remove the profile and reply to let you know. After that you can take the phrase out of your bio.

We handle every request by hand and aim to complete it within a few working days. We never ask for your password, a login code or an identity document. If you cannot edit the bio, for example because the account belongs to your child or to an organization you act for, say so in your email and we will agree another way to confirm it.

What removal does

• Your profile page on PicMany, the pages of the posts and reels your account owns, and its stories and highlights stop being shown. Their addresses say the profile has been removed at the owner's request, and tell search engines the page is gone.
• Posts and reels owned by another account stay on that account's pages, even where Instagram also lists them on your profile, as it does with a collaboration. They no longer link to your profile or show it among the people in the post. To have one taken down, ask the account that posted it, or send us a copyright notice if it uses your work.
• The profile and its posts are left out of everything else on PicMany that lists them: popular and place pages, related accounts, search, and the sitemap, the list of pages we give search engines. Where someone else's caption or bio mentions your username, the words stay but no longer link anywhere.
• The removal stays in place after you take the phrase out of your bio. It is tied to your username, so if you rename the account, send us the new name.
• Nothing changes on Instagram itself or on other websites. PicMany only shows what Instagram shows publicly; to change that, change the account on Instagram.

How long it takes to disappear

On PicMany: once we carry out the removal, your profile page and the pages of its posts and reels say it has been removed within a minute or two, and our server deletes the copies it had kept of them. Other pages that listed the profile, such as a popular topic or another account's related accounts, leave it out the next time they are refreshed, which is within an hour. A browser that opened a page recently can show its own copy for another minute, and a story highlight's cover image it has already loaded for up to a day.

In search engines: Google, Bing and others drop a page when they next visit it and find it gone. They decide when that is, and it usually takes from a few days to a few weeks. Once the page says it has been removed you can ask them to hurry, with Google's Remove outdated content tool and Bing's Content Removal tool.

Other options

• Make your account private. Instagram then shows your posts, reels and stories only to followers you approve. PicMany only ever sees what a logged-out visitor sees, so they disappear here too, normally within about an hour. Your name, username, profile picture, bio and counts stay public on Instagram, and so they stay visible here unless you also ask us to remove the profile.
• Delete a post, or the account. Deleted posts and accounts disappear from PicMany by themselves once our copy is refreshed: normally within about an hour, and at most a day or two if Instagram is not answering our requests at the time.

Copyright notices

If a post or reel shown on PicMany uses your copyrighted work without permission, send a notice to [email protected]. It needs:

1. The copyrighted work you own or represent, described or linked.
2. The address on PicMany of each post or reel that shows it, for example https://picmany.com/p/ABC123.
3. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
4. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
5. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
6. Your physical or electronic signature; typing your full name is enough.

Once we have checked a complete notice, we remove each post or reel it lists from PicMany and reply to you. Its page then says it has been removed and tells search engines it is gone, within a minute or two of our acting on the notice, and pages that show it in a grid, such as a profile or a popular topic, leave it out within an hour. The rest of the profile that posted it stays. PicMany shows every photo and video straight from Instagram's servers, so the file itself stays on Instagram until Instagram removes it: to have it taken down there and everywhere else it appears, report it to Instagram as well, through the Instagram Help Center.

If you believe a page was removed by mistake, write to us with the details and we will look at it again. Please send a notice only if you own the work or act for its owner.
