When Person of Interest debuted in 2011, The Machine seemed like something from a future. An AI system watching cameras, phones, financial records, online activity, and other data to identify threats sounded almost impossible. More than a decade later, the technology is still not one system exactly like the show imagined, but many pieces already exist. Facial recognition, location tracking, smart devices, data collection, and AI pattern analysis can give organizations ways to monitor people. That makes the show's deeper question even more important: not what AI can do, but who controls it, who gets monitored, and what limits exist.
