Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is one of the most influential and controversial figures in modern music. The Chicago-born rapper and producer transformed hip-hop with albums such as The College Dropout, Late Registration, Graduation, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and Donda, while also becoming a major force in fashion through Yeezy. In 2026, Ye released his long-delayed album Bully and returned to major live performances, including a high-profile Chicago homecoming show at Soldier Field. Ye has also remained surrounded by controversy. His antisemitic remarks and other inflammatory behavior led to major business fallout and the cancellation of several international shows; he later issued a public apology in January 2026.
