Resh Gala | Organic Gardener@reshgala Did you know you can train sweet potato vines to grow vertically? 🍠🌱 This year I’m growing the leafy, sprawling sweet potato foliage upwards on my Gala arch trellis, while the actual tubers grow under the ground in my raised beds. It not only looks beautiful (the plant puts out pretty purple flowers) but it’s also a simple way to make the most of a small growing space and keep the garden looking tidy. @bellerozzy Doing the same….makes for a very pretty garden and also helps with the vines trying to root in the ground outside my raised bed.

@iamexpressway Well let’s us NorthEast folks know when you’re removing your tubers before the frost damages them. From two seed sweet potatoes got minimum 28 slips in ground by mid August. -lots of sweet potato dishes on the way.
