The Emperor’s New Groove (2000) follows Kuzco, a spoiled young Incan emperor who plans to build a luxurious summer home on a hill belonging to a kind villager named Pacha. Before Kuzco can carry out his plan, his power-hungry adviser Yzma attempts to poison him and take the throne, but her plan goes wrong and Kuzco is accidentally transformed into a llama. Yzma orders her assistant Kronk to get rid of him, but Kuzco ends up in Pacha’s village instead. When Pacha discovers that the llama is actually Kuzco, the two reluctantly team up. Kuzco promises to spare Pacha’s home if Pacha helps him return to the palace and become human again. As they travel through the jungle and encounter Yzma and Kronk, Kuzco gradually realizes how selfish and cruel he has been toward others. Meanwhile, Yzma continues trying to find Kuzco and secure control of the empire for herself.
