Malachi Toney filling in at QUARTERBACK in high school just shows how versatile this dude has always been. 😭 Toney was primarily a receiver at American Heritage, but when his team needed help at quarterback, he stepped in and showed he could make plays from there too. And he didn’t look completely out of place doing it either. Having experience taking snaps, reading a defense and being responsible for the entire offense gives you a completely different perspective once you move back out to receiver. It’s part of what makes Toney such an interesting weapon with the ball in his hands. Now he’s making plays at Miami as a receiver, but that quarterback experience is still part of his game. Toney isn’t just an athlete you throw the ball to and hope something happens. He understands football from multiple positions and can be used in so many different ways.
