Stephanie | Family Travel UK & Europe@busyfamilyexplorers Cabin or hotel in Lapland? ❄️ We’ve stayed in BOTH — and I’d choose the cabin again. But I don’t think a cabin is automatically the right choice for every family. 🌲 OUR FOREST CABIN — Aurora Hill Resort This was the Lapland experience I’d imagined. Deep snow and forest everywhere, incredible views and the girls could literally step outside and play in the snow. Breakfast was delivered to our cabin each morning, we had a kitchenette for making our own food and it was incredibly peaceful. The trade-off? Getting around took more planning. We relied on taxis when we needed to get into Rovaniemi, although some activities can arrange transfers. 🏨 OUR CITY HOTEL — Postmaster Hotel This made the practical side of the trip SO much easier. We were opposite the bus station, with restaurants and supermarkets nearby, and we preferred having a larger buffet breakfast with the kids. But when we walked outside, we were in the city rather than surrounded by snowy forest — and for me, that wilderness feeling was a huge part of what made Lapland special. So my decision would be: Want easier logistics → CITY HOTEL Want the full snowy Lapland experience → FOREST CABIN For us?
