@mattnatural I would say respect everyone first. You should give them the benefit of the doubt. Assume they are kind like you first, if they prove you wrong and they are a bad person. Then they lose the respect. In your video it kinda sounds like you are making excuses for people to disrespect the elders just because. 😆 I’m pretty sure that’s not what you meant. I agree that we should grow and do things differently, but I also think we should do it consciously with love in our hearts. Aggressive progress just for the sake of progress is how we got here in the first place.

@mariastraart In part it's right but lets NOT confuse respect and being gentle and kind with obedience. One thing is to respect yourself and your boundaries and to know how to say no, other thing is to be respectful (to anyone). And be gentle. It costs nothing. Its super sad to see genZ and younger boys be sitting and scrolling in metro while in front of them some granny barely keeps standing in foot

@edawginthesun What you are talking about sounds harmless, but this is what is slowly beginning a cycle of complete and total societal collapse. You will miss those elders when they are no longer around to ground the perception of morality and hierarchy. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.
@renerussak I would expect from you little bit more, more balanced approach to the topic that is very sensitive for many people . The agenda wants Gen Z to be disconnected from the ancestral wisdom, to be even more lost so it's easy to control them . If you don't know in Azerbaijan does culture the way you describing almost doesn't exist, there is more balance of traditional families and understanding new generation . I won't get deep into this topic . Gen Z!!!! they want you desperately disconnect from your family from your tribe as a part of cancel culture, demonization of the humanity.

@freux.x Love this. I am also millennial. Always leaned more towards the younger gens! Every generation has its boons and flaws. Its fascinating to me... the flow of evolution within a species. Socially- everything led to this as we thread the eye of the needle. I was raised by boomers. (Lucky my parents were trailblazers in their own time for breaking gender constructs) I also got to see their thinking open and change to world events and pressures. I was taught the "respect your elders" mantra. My pushing back against my parents on hierarchical standards was hard for them (and me). But that work when I was a teen... I mean. Theres plenty now that I fought for then- that they have completely changed their minds on. I like GenZ alot. The climate in which they grew up... similar to mine but not. New challenges to overcome. To challenge status quo with. It is the job for all of us to reach backwards and forwards to help inform the choices of the future. Hanging GenZ out to dry... we shoot ourselves in the foot. We should be empowering them.

@4_6ontheroof I'm a millenial and I gotta say, I deconditioned from a lot of that programming because time and again many from both gen x and boomers proved to me that theyre not worthy of respect. I still respect anyone by default, until they show me that they're not respectable. My son is gen z and he was always exactly how you described with the "but why?" He's like me though, respectful and courteous to anyone, but he will just as quickly turn and tell anyone to their face "you're fucked" and call them out if they're not being good humans. Proud of that guy! I taught him a lot but he has learned me a thing or two over the years 💚

@hardziec Which is awesome, I agree. To me, even tho I’m a millenial myself, I always questioned those things, so I’ve always been doing it (where even if the elder person said something like really crappy and respond, I will hear this infamous « come on, this person is your elder, don’t talk like that » (and for every authority figures when I was a kid to today). I’ve known few person with which a great connexion could be make because we where on the same planet regarding boundaries. Was always noticed. But hey, for the boundary thing, idk, to me it’s part of being « « civilized » » or a good person, idk Glad the younger gen ended up embrassing it ✌🏻
