@salve_vale Hi, 2 corrections - 1) it’s not connected to the amount of sneezes, the polite and habitual version is to say ‘be healthy’, in singular or polite (which looks like plural, mind you) form, each time a person sneezes 2) you say this saying only to close friends and family, cuz originally it’s part of a longer saying dating back to 18-19 century and addressing kids only (a good wish and a bit life wisdom) and it’s funny, so it makes people smile. Plus it’s rhymed, so that speaks of folklore origin. Enjoy learning the languages!

@ria347 The phrase “dont be a pasta” is like saying don’t be fake. There is another saying “hanging pasta on ears” when you are lying to someone, so the pasta is somehow because associated with lying 😂
@manyaha In my Russian family it was “be healthy” however many times, and when you annoyed everyone with your sneezes it went like “Felicia, enough for today”. The “grow big, don’t be noodles” is a common birthday wish. Only from your video I found out people would say it after a sneeze! But Russian speaking world is huge, so the sayings can be different in different regions. And the word “lapsha” usually means a dish, not a single noodle in Russian. So the idea is something like “don’t be sloppy, toughen up”.
@ivanslimov A Russian speaker here. We do have it, some people say it, but the full thing is mostly reserved for kids. Like, for example, if someone in the office I work sneezes, I will always stick to «будь здоров» regardless how many times they sneeze, cause we’re grown men and not kindergarten kids, but if my preteen niece sneezes, I will definitely use the whole thing

@diafoodsy I’m Russian. We say the second and third parts as a birthday toast, not after someone sneezes
