Steven Spielberg's JURASSIC PARK (1993), based on Michael Crichton's novel of the same name, stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Richard Attenborough. At the 66th Oscars, the film was nominated in three categories, winning in each: Sound (Gary Summers, Gary Rydstrom, Shawn Murphy, Ron Judkins), Sound Effects Editing (Gary Rydstrom, Richard Hymns) and Visual Effects (Dennis Muren, Stan Winston, Phil Tippett, Michael Lantieri).

@gmann2987 Such an incredible actor...Sam was born to give us all Dr. Alan Grant...much like Leonard Nimoy was born to give us Mr. Spock....two amazing men playing two amazing men (or in Mr. Spock's case, Leonard Nimoy was to play a half man, half Vulcan)....I have been blessed to have been born in 1961 and have the amazing chance to observe both men....Nimoy as Spock in TOS and for years after...., and Neil to play Grant in my early 30's and beyond....thank you Leonard and Sam....thank you for the wonderful years you gave of yourselves to entertain us all...
