Unpopular opinion… 4pm (or right after school) dinners might be the secret to a calmer evening. Here’s why it works: ✨The kids are hungry!! So instead of feeding them snacks, why not feed them a nutritious meal and if they’re hungry later on (which sometimes isn’t the case) then they can have a snack ✨Homework gets done without the “what’s for dinner?” interruptions ✨Evenings feel slower instead of rushed. The kitchen was cleaned up by 5pm and we have the rest of the evening to hang or go off to extracurriculars (ours start at 6pm) ✨There’s more time for baths, books, and family time. BONUS- I’m not cooking at 6pm when everyone (including me) is overstimulated and hangry Sometimes the reset isn’t a new routine… it’s just a better time slot?! We don’t do this everyday because… life but when we do, the benefits are huge🙏🏼 I also realize this can’t be the case for a lot of families but if it is something you are able to do, give it a try. I swear, it’s a gamechanger! STEAK FAJITA RECIPE: Flank steak or strip loin fast fry steak Preheat oven to 400 Cut up peppers and onions and place on tray Cut up steak and add to tray Season with @sietefoods taco or fajita seasoning (I use to do my own but it tastes much better with this lol) Add olive oil and some lime juice + mix Cook for about 25-30 mins (I mix around half way through) Serve with your favourite wraps and toppings XOXOX Motherhood, easy dinner, mom of 4, easy meals, parenting, relatable

@agata_kay_ We’ve been doing 330p dinners and a little bed time snack at 6/7p for years. It’s amazing. But that won’t work for most working people.
@momlifewithbecca We’ve done this too! My kids were home at 3pm ready for a full meal of snacks 😅 would much rather just cook dinner!

@cc_on_purpose I BACK this so much !!! My kids aren’t even school-aged yet and I’m unsure how the flow will be with extra curriculars, but for now- I love the earlier dinners too. The snack after is such a hack!! Tummies more settled, the house more settled & time with family ❤️
@kendraleenyc Unless you’re a working mom and not Home til 6
@sarazagrean Growing up we ate dinner at 3:00pm! Right after school. Hot, homemade, every day! My mum’s the best 🤍
@lianaahdoot Agreed ! They are so hungry after school by 4:45 they need to eat a meal or they will just have junk!
@mrsashleypeterson I agree. It’s just so hard to work and have meals done by 4. Thinking about quitting my jobs.😂
@mynazmhome Started doing the same really just works so well for my boy! He snacks less and by dinner he is good with something small and healthy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@dr.kimpharmd I agree with this ! Earlier the better then snack later
@la_finca_slowlife WoW in Spain IS so different. We do not follow this schedule but It IS like this (even kids): 7-8 breakfast. Around 10:30-11 snack. 1-3pm lunch. 5pm snack. 8-9pm dinner (or even later)....
@torri_ski Random but can you share this recipe? lol
@ismihan.uddin We always did this, always made more sense
@arjadovitz Completely agree! 😍
