Rare & Unique Vintage Watches@watchesrewound The Ebel Sport Classic Ref. 1134901 This watch has several very impressive distinctions, including being worn by Don Johnson on Miami Vice! This watch was created during the early 1980s, during the Quartz Crisis, a time when Zenith wasn't making mechanical watches. Ebel, knowing Zenith still had the tooling for their legendary Cal. 400, requested Zenith manufacture the movements for them for this watch. Some say a move that saved Zenith from bankruptcy. A few years later, Rolex would also purchase the same movements for the first Automatic Daytona, the Ref. 16520. (NOTE: The new Rolex Daytona at this time costs less than this Ebel did back then 😅😅) This particular example has very rare applied golden indices to match the solid gold bezel and crown.
