His relaxed style helped bridge rhythm & blues and early rock ’n’ roll, influencing generations of musicians. “Blueberry Hill” is a nostalgic song about remembering a place where love once flourished and mourning the fact that those happy days are gone. Interestingly, the song wasn’t originally written for Fats Domino: it was first recorded in 1940 by several artists, including Glenn Miller, before Domino transformed it into his signature version in 1956.
