The Four-Role Herbal Formulation Matrix Key Herb (8-16 parts): This is the undisputed ruler of the formula. It is explicitly chosen to target the primary symptom picture or the underlying core tissue imbalance. It commands the highest proportion of the blend. Supporting Herb (4-8 parts): The physiological assistant. This herb supports the primary actions of the Key herb, addresses secondary symptoms, or provides direct trophorestorative toning to the specific organ system under evaluation. Balancing Herb (2-4 parts): The harmonizer and tissue protector. It is selected to buffer intense physiological effects, mitigate harsh or toxic elements, round out unpalatable flavors (such as extreme bitterness), and protect delicate mucous membranes. Catalyst (1-2 parts): The driver. Usually an aromatic, pungent, or acrid herb, the catalyst jumpstarts blood flow, awakens the nervous system, and dynamically delivers the entire formula throughout the peripheral vasculature. #herbalism

@thebiglittleflowerfarm What school or classes do you recommend to get started. I would like to get my herbal practitioners certification and there are so many out there.

@downing2576 I would just add if you never had the herb before I would try it separate just in case the herb does not agree with you. If you have 4 herbs you never used you would have to figure out why you had a reaction or did not agree with your creation

@gabster8181 I’ve always reached for ginger as the driver but Rosemary actually sounds like a better idea now that spring is on its way. Thanks lovely 🥰
