Pinch hitter David Bote stepped in against Ryan Madson and launched a walk-off grand slam into center field, turning certain defeat into an unforgettable 4-3 Cubs victory. What made it even more incredible was how rare it was. It was the first walk-off grand slam to erase a 3-0 ninth-inning deficit with two outs, and one of the few “ultimate grand slams” ever hit, meaning it came with the bases loaded, down by three, and ended the game instantly. It remains one of the most iconic regular season home runs of the modern era. Wrigley Field erupted, Bote rounded the bases in disbelief, and Cubs fans witnessed a moment they’ll never forget.
