The first annual Northeast Pizza Throwdown @northeastpizzathrowdown is coming to The Raw Bar at Island Creek Oyster Farm in Duxbury @islandcreekoysters on Monday, September 14th, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most unique food events on the South Shore this year. Hosted by Nor’easter Pizza Company @noreasterpizza and Gozney pizza ovens @gozney , the event was inspired by the incredible sense of community the Nor’easter team experienced while competing at the IPC World Pizza Championships in Las Vegas. Their goal is to bring that same passion, creativity, and camaraderie to New England. Pizza makers of all skill levels are invited to compete for cash prizes, a custom championship belt, and a brand-new Gozney Arc Lite pizza oven. Competitors will be judged on crust, bake, flavor, appearance, and creativity by a panel of respected pizza professionals. Even if you’re not competing, you can still be part of an incredible evening. The charity gala begins after the competition and includes complimentary pizza, appetizers, silent and live auctions, all while raising money for Learn Live Love, a local nonprofit that provides financial assistance to South Shore women undergoing cancer treatment. Whether you’re a chef, a home pizza enthusiast, someone in the hospitality industry, or simply someone who loves great food and supporting a great cause, this is an event worth checking out.
