@ohana_tui @konatime absolutely. But since US standards are so low when it comes to the safety of our food, the ingredients there are allowed, and the chemicals the US allows. I would take non-organic produce from a different country over a basic bag of chips here any day. Our standards are not better than other countries so let’s be real about it. Most Asian countries don’t even allow half the chemicals you find in our food to be sold in their supermarkets because they actually care about their population.
@konatime I do like the array of produce, but some of the ready to eat items like their bulgolgi doesn’t taste as good as Kukje. Jagalchi has great sales though on selected items if you catch them, and Pogu is an excellent restaurant, but my go-to is still Kukje even though I live a couple of blocks away from Serramonte. H-Mart still has better selection though hands down between the three, but for price & fast food quality, Kukje is my first choice & the oldest establishment by decades. Kukje Bakery opened next door as well a few months ago.

@wineandpinarello They have the best quality high grade tuna I’ve seen at a market in the bay so far. I was surprised that it was better than the Japanese markets I’ve visited. The wagyu was also high quality. This market is also spacious and easy to navigate your carts without bottlenecks unlike most Asian markets and remarkably clean, like sterile clean. The only strawberries and grapes I buy are from here. Once you taste it, it’s hard to go back, even the organic ones from farmer’s markets. Our favorite Asian market in the bay.
