He is massive, short tempered, and basically treats the hallways of P.S. 38 like his own personal hunting ground. For Nate and his friends, spotting Chester in the hallway is an instant code red. He is the kind of guy who can turn a simple walk to lunch into a complete survival mission, whether he is threatening to shove someone into a locker or just taking whatever he wants. Nate handles Chester the only way he knows how: by using his brain and his comic strips as a shield. Since Nate definitely cannot win a physical fight against someone twice his size, he gets his revenge on paper, turning Chester into a giant, dumb comic book villain that the whole school can laugh at behind his back. #bignate #bestbignate #comics

@21.hall_of_fame I love how even though Chester isn't in the frame, the way Francis is drawn at the bottom of the panel and the sound effects come from higher up make Chester feel giant, even if we don't see him. Lincoln Peirce is da goat 🐐

@shglamph Ah but Francis you simple fool. The fact that it worked on many others, and didn’t work on just one participant means that the bottle is still soothing in a statistically significant number of trials.
