@julie_branom This is not socialization. When you choose as a parent carefully curated population that is not socialization.
@julie_branom The reason I do not support homeschooling is because you were withdrawing kids from society. Socialization isn’t about carefully curated play groups. Socialization is about encountering children that do not come from the same, so I may not be the same coloring and leading to those people that are different than you.

@ethan_gilani I’m homeschooled, I just feel left out sometimes, but in a social guy and my family isn’t so that’s probably it, anyway I found a youth group and been making many friends ❤️
@daniwork I agree with you but the No child left behind act hasnt been in place for quite a while now. Just as a heads up
@isabellahopeauthor In my final year of high school right now, graduating early, socializing with kids my age age at least two times a week, able to work more hours than public schoolers can, and I have written four books in five years. Like real novels, the shortest being 215 pages and the longest (my first) being 433. I don’t say this to brag but to prove that I would honestly say I am THRIVING. Which I know is not the case for everyone but it is for the majority.
@winchester___730 Also once we hit teenage age or even like 12 we are in fact aloud to go places by ourselves like my brother and I go out to the rec center and stuff like that all the time it’s very easy to get socialization

@alexis355516 I fully support homeschooling, but I personally wouldn’t like to be homeschooled, but that’s just because most of my friends are made at school, but I have better friends at sports than I do at school🙌
@lily_c2708 I think it depends on the child. I was homeschooled as well as all of my siblings and it didn’t work as well for me as it did for them. That being said I did have a great education and I was able to join a speech and debate organization made more for homeschoolers. I scored incredibly well on the national Latin exam all three times I took it and I’m integrating into college super easily. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t homeschooled but that’s not a discredit to homeschool at all. My mom was almost never the actual “teacher” in the situation. We did use outside sources and most of my school I was actually being taught by other adults in my life that happened to know more than my parents did. In short what I’m trying to say is that every child is different and no mater how hard they try the public school system cannot adequately handle that. Not all homeschooling is bad, even if that’s what you’re seeing on the internet.
@suxi._ Honey I’m going to hold you hand while I say this: I’ve ALWAYS been able to tell when my peers where homeschooled. Why? They were always awkward as HELL…. Just because you don’t think you stand out socially— doesn’t mean others agree. 💀😂 (born 03, graduated 2022 for reference)
@stranskyrebekah For me I have a lot of older siblings so I’m actually pretty decent at talking to adults
@harrison.james1_ Hey, I looked up that law, “no child left behind act” and I couldn’t find anything about kids not being able to fail. I mostly found stuff about standardized testing and focusing on achievement gabs. I’m not trying to say that you’re “wrong” and I’m “right” but I would love to better understand that act
