There are five key things you need to know about Shade before you order. 1. Shade is thick. It is concentrated. There's no water, so there's no preservatives or emulsifiers or anything like that. A little bit goes a long way. 2. The non-nano zinc oxide that is the active ingredient. Its mode of action is to sit on the skin as a layer of white that reflects, scatters, and absorbs the UV. That's how it works. It's quite white. You rub it on, you don't rub it in. 3. The scent varies from batch to batch, and the reason for that is because we don't refine any of the ingredients. They're not standardised to smell the same. We don't add fragrances. It's completely unscented. The smell can be very aromatic, and that's usually the shea butter. If we refined them, we'd lose a lot of their beneficial properties, and we don't want to do that. 4, When it's cold, it can be really firm. Just rub it, warm it up. It's warmer in the summer. This softens, it becomes a lot more easy to use. 5. The texture can change. As it cools, the amino acids can cool differently, and it can end up quite grainy. But that is really simple to fix. Your, your sunscreen isn't broken. You can heat it up, and it'll be just as beautiful as the day it was first poured.
