MBR Health@mbr_health A fascinating case highlighting the potential role of Spectral CT in breast imaging. This patient, a woman in her 60s, presented with a palpable lump in her left breast. Despite having extremely dense breast tissue for her age, Spectral CT identified an area of concern that correlated precisely with the location of her symptoms. Further assessment with ultrasound and biopsy confirmed an invasive ductal carcinoma. Dense breast tissue can make cancer detection more challenging on conventional imaging, which is why emerging technologies such as Spectral CT are generating increasing interest as complementary tools in selected patients. @northern_rivers_naturopath Would that also have shown up with ultrasound, as a first port of call? (which is commonly used to confirm mammogram findings)

@cloth_and_clay 🙏🙏🙏so pleased to read this , as I had the same diagnosis, and it wasn’t picked up for years, sadly ended in a double Mastectomy .

@chaful3 If the patient had a palpable lump why not perform the ultrasound first

@robinwatson9538 I’m 67. Have had dense breasts for over 20 years. Been getting Mammograms & Tomograms but I have had a hard time, painful lump right under my R breast that I’ve had for a couple years now and it’s growing but Radiologist keeps telling me it’s just tissue from dense breast. They tell me to stop worrying and even changed my report to show now that I don’t have dense breasts! If you can believe that!!! I’m even a retired nurse at the University where I work so I go to the Doctors & the Hospital for all my treatment. I’m really getting sick of it. Until I saw your video I was going outside of University to get an outside opinion. Do u think Spectral CT could show something different? Where can I get one done?

@kushagra5631 If she can already feel the lump and localize to the 3'O clock position then USG can easily pick it up even if mammography is difficult. What value did spectral CT add?
