@balintkolozsvari 🐮 💩 advice. Imagine at a store whatever you buy you don’t know the price, they just negotiate something random for each customer every time. Here is a better advice: never take advice from someone larping podcasts. This guy filmed himself pretending to be on a podcast while he’s talking alone

@nerickson1229 Just a counter point, coming from middle management, I have no ability to get them to post the salary ranges, although I sure wish they would. I also have no ability to change then. I ask to ensure we're on the same page about it. 9/10 times, you're dead on the money, they come in well below what I'm willing to offer, but additionally, I created a rubric of skills to define pay ranges and that's what I stick to regardless of how that question is answered. Whether a candidate says a number too high or too low, I'm making my best guess of their skills, offering them the pay of where I think they belong, and will typically give them a raise after their 90 days if they meet or exceed my expectations. Not every hiring manager is trying to scam an employee, I want to give my employees as much support and reason to come to work as I can
