Your labs can fall inside the “normal” range and you can still be inflamed?! That gray zone is where most metabolic problems begin. Conventional lab ranges are built to detect disease. Functional ranges aim to catch early dysfunction, before symptoms become diagnoses. Low grade inflammation is not loud. It shows up as: - Slower recovery - Brain fog - Stubborn fat gain - Joint stiffness - Mood shifts - Energy that never quite rebounds Here is what you should really pay attention to: - CRP below 3 mg/L is technically normal, but under 1 mg/L is associated with lower cardiovascular risk. Trends over time matter more than a single test. - Ferritin reflects iron storage, but it also rises during inflammation. High ferritin is not always high iron. - Homocysteine above 10-12 µmol/L is associated with vascular and cognitive risk, even if still “in range”. - IL-6 and TNF-α rise with visceral fat, sleep loss, and chronic stress. - Omega 6:3 balance often tells you more about inflammatory load than total fat intake alone. Inflammation is rarely one cause. It is usually the accumulation of: - Poor sleep - Blood sugar instability - Chronic stress - Visceral fat - Ultra processed food intake - Low omega 3 status What consistently helps shift markers downward: - Sleep 7-9 hours with consistent timing - Lift weights 3-4x per week without overtraining - Improve omega 3 intake to lower the omega 6:3 ratio - Maintain adequate vitamin D, magnesium, zinc, and B vitamins - Reduce refined seed oil and ultra processed food intake - Support gut integrity with fiber and polyphenols Inflammation shapes insulin sensitivity, vascular health, hormone signaling, and brain aging. If you only look for disease, you miss early leverage. @embody_wholistic Don’t you mean omega 3:6?
@structamed Reference ranges answer 'is this disease already obvious?' Optimal ranges often try to answer 'is the system already drifting?
@wencurole Mold is also a hidden inflammatory culprit
