My blocking mats and wires and pins are in storage so I MacGyvered it and am feeling quite pleased with myself. 😅 If you have no idea what’s going on, this is a knitted shawl and they tend to come out kind of small and rumpled at first. But then you block it - soak it in water and stretch it out and let it dry - and it becomes this elegant piece of wearable art. Usually you’d block it by carefully pinning it to a mattress or a special mat but it turns out you can clamp it to a table and call that good enough. [This is my Checklist Shawl colourway - it’s self striping and dyed specifically for a triangular shawl so you get nice even stripes and no extra ends to weave in.] Video: a shawl is lying flat on a table top, with the wingspan stretched out and clamped in place.
