Latif Sahib was the pride of the Ummah who led the struggle for the protection of the rights of Muslims and other communities. Latief Sahib, who held several positions including National Secretary of Muslim League and General Secretary of IUML Tamil Nadu State, was a five-time MLA in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. He has served as the Pro-Time Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and Chairman of the Waqf Board.
