And June is National Ocean Month - the perfect time to visit the @mystic_aquarium in Connecticut to learn about the marine sanctuary (like an underwater national park) off of New England’s coast! @ConservationLawFoundation first told me about “The Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument” and immediately I knew I needed to learn more. To the aquarium! They have an exhibit called Ocean Refuge, telling the story of this marine monument + there are other great exhibits to explore too. When I went, I got to meet Peter Auster, Mystic Aquarium Senior Research Scientist and research professor emeritus of marine sciences at UConn. His passion is infectious! I find our oceans to be so fascinating (and I love animals so much) but I look forward to the potential discoveries he and his team might find inside this marine sanctuary and living laboratory off of Cape Cod’s coast! Visit the aquarium about an hour and a half south of Boston in Mystic, Connecticut to check out the exhibit!
