The Thai crown, known as a mongkut for women or chada for men, is the focal point of formal Thai royal costume and symbolizes Mount Meru in Buddhist cosmology. The modern prominence of Thai royal costume was shaped by Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, who revived and standardized four key styles: Thai Ruean Ton, Thai Chitralada, Thai Amarin, and Thai Dusit.
