Pink Gorilla is a retro video game retailer in Seattle, Washington known for its mascot Pink Gojima, though the term also refers to Godzilla’s pink transformation in recent media. The store was originally founded as Pink Godzilla Games in 2005 before rebranding in 2009 after a trademark dispute with Toho, the owner of the Godzilla franchise. It sells imported games, plushies, and branded merchandise, and was featured by IGN as a top Seattle nerd spot in 2018.

In Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Godzilla gains a pink atomic breath and spines after absorbing energy from Tiamat, giving him increased speed and power for the battle against the Skar King. Director Adam Wingard described it as part of Godzilla’s training routine to level up, and Toho approved the redesign. The look distinguishes the Monsterverse version from other iterations like Godzilla Minus One.

The pink aesthetic has also become an internet meme, with artists like Angela Cote reimagining Gojira as a pastel, kawaii creature under the #pinkgodzilla hashtag. This playful trend contrasts the monster’s destructive reputation with soft watercolor art and floral motifs, reflecting online remix culture.
