About Palais Projects
Palais des Papes hosted Alexandre Mazzia's Starry Night charity dinner in 2026, bringing together seven Michelin-starred chefs for a cause-driven event. The evening supported two main initiatives: AM Académie, which provides scholarships and training for young athletes, and the Paoli-Calmettes Institute in Marseille, focused on oncology research and care for children with cancer. The dinner used the historic Avignon venue to connect youth development with medical support through food and philanthropy.
In Paris, the Grand Palais has become a center for contemporary cultural projects after its major four-year restoration by Chatillon Architectes, completed in 2025. For Paris Design Week 2026, design collective Uchronia installed Le Grand Bouquet, a large floral sculpture in the Rotonde d’Antin that visitors can inhabit with surrounding seating and tables. The installation responds to the building’s original floral motifs while encouraging interaction within the renovated space.
Other palais-related projects include the adaptive reuse of Palais Rameau in Lille, where a demountable timber structure was inserted into the 19th-century hall to create flexible classrooms and exhibition spaces for JUNIA engineering school. These efforts reflect a broader trend of transforming historic palatial buildings into accessible public venues for art, education, and community engagement.
