Kirkiversary refers to the viral meme trend marking the one-year anniversary of Charlie Kirk's death on September 10, 2025. The right-wing activist was fatally shot at Utah Valley University, and in the lead-up to the date, TikTok and X users began posting ironic "Kirkiversary" content that blends dark humor with AI-generated edits of Kirk’s image. Posts range from Kirkified versions of classic memes to parody songs like "We Are Charlie Kirk" and fictional pairings with other creators.

The trend, dubbed "Kirkification," started shortly after his death when users replaced celebrities’ faces with Kirk’s in popular meme formats using generative AI. It expanded to include outfit transition videos set to audio of Kirk’s final moments, which Turning Point USA called "grotesque and dehumanizing". Experts describe it as a Gen Z coping mechanism for processing political violence and polarization through irony. The memes have also sparked controversy, including backlash against Jacksepticeye for joking "You want to get Kirked?" in a gaming video.

Alongside the satirical content, some religious accounts have framed Kirk’s death as martyrdom, pairing memorial images with biblical quotes and the phrase "It’s all about Jesus". The dual tone reflects how Kirk’s image has been co-opted for both mockery and reverence across social media, turning a polarizing political figure into an enduring internet meme one year later.
