About Haldirams
Haldiram's is an Indian multinational food company founded in 1937 in Bikaner, Rajasthan by Ganga Bhishen Agarwal. It began as a small sweet and namkeen shop and grew into a major FMCG and restaurant chain known for snacks like Aloo Bhujia, sweets, and frozen foods. The brand now operates in over 80 countries and has more than 200 sites across north India, with its headquarters in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
The company expanded from Bikaner to Kolkata, Jaipur, and Delhi, evolving beyond namkeens into ready meals, beverages, and full-service restaurants. Haldiram’s Bikaneri Bhujia became a Geographical Indication tagged product and even accompanied Indian astronauts on space missions. In 2025, investors including Singapore’s Temasek and UAE-based Alpha Wave acquired stakes worth over ₹13,600 crore, valuing the company at about ₹84,000 crore ahead of a planned IPO.
Haldiram’s opened its first UK restaurant in London’s Leicester Square in June 2026, shifting to a premium casual format with dishes like chole bhature and raj kachori. The outlet also features a retail section for packaged snacks and UK-exclusive lines. The brand remains fully vegetarian and is often compared to McDonald’s and Domino’s in India for its scale and popularity.
