Alia Botner

Alleigha Botner, 24, testified in September 2026 during the murder trial of former American Idol contestant Caleb Flynn in Miami County, Ohio. She described an 18-month affair with Flynn and read hundreds of thousands of text messages exchanged before his wife Ashley Flynn was killed in February 2026. Prosecutors allege Flynn shot Ashley and staged a break-in, while he has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and other charges.

Botner met Flynn in 2022 at the Christian Life Center in Dayton, Ohio, when she was a 20-year-old intern and he was a worship pastor. She testified the sexual relationship began in March 2024 and that Flynn frequently expressed hatred toward Ashley and discussed wanting her dead. The court also heard AI-generated love songs Flynn allegedly created for Botner and saw evidence of matching Harry Potter lightning bolt tattoos the pair got during the affair.

During cross-examination Botner became emotional reading messages where she wrote “I want to kill her, Caleb,” to which Flynn replied “That makes two of us.” She admitted initially lying to the FBI about the affair but denied any role in Ashley’s death. In a separate interview, Botner said she was never searched, fingerprinted, or charged in connection with the case.
