Aire Ancient Baths opened its second New York City location on the Upper East Side in a 9,600sq ft historic 120-year-old warehouse once used by MoMA to store collections. The spa features a ceiling-suspended salt bath called the Flotarium and the exclusive Signature Monet Experience inspired by Claude Monet's Water Lilies. The brand maintains a candle-lit, silent atmosphere with communal Roman, Greek and Ottoman-style bathing circuits.
The Tribeca location remains the original NYC site, housed in a former textile factory basement with tepidarium, caldarium, and cold plunge pools. Guests follow a thermal circuit alternating hot and cold baths, followed by massages in candle-lit rooms. Both locations limit capacity to ensure tranquility, with Tribeca allowing 20 guests per two-hour slot and Upper East Side capping at 16 per hour.
Aire launched in Seville, Spain in 2000 and now operates globally in cities including Barcelona, London, Copenhagen, and Chicago. The experience focuses on sensory immersion with orange-blossom scents, dim lighting, and music played underwater. Visitors often cite the Flotarium float and silent policy as highlights for relaxation and stress relief.
