India’s 16-year wait for a women’s 10,000m Asian Games medal is finally over. Seema Kumari won bronze in the women’s 10,000m final at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on September 24, clocking 32:50.05. Bahrain’s Winfred Yavi won gold, while Japan’s Nozomi Tanaka took silver. Her bronze is India’s first medal in the event since 2010, when Preeja Sreedharan won gold and Kavita Raut took silver.
