Director Curry Barker’s breakout horror hit Obsession takes the classic “be careful what you wish for” trope and turns it into a relentless, nightmare-inducing masterclass in psychological dread. When Michael Johnston’s character uses the mysterious One Wish Willow to force his crush into loving him, he unknowingly releases a terrifying wave of unhinged obsession. The film instantly grabs your attention with its sharp, unsettling tone and never lets go. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What makes the movie work so brilliantly is the terrifying physical performance delivered by lead actress Inde Navarrette. She switches effortlessly between sweet devotion and manic, devilish intensity, making the terrifying consequences of toxic desires feel brutally real on screen. Balanced with dark comedic beats, the story keeps audiences on edge as every boundary in the central relationship gets crossed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ultimately, Obsession stands out as one of the year’s most memorable horror releases because it exposes the uglier corners of human affection. It serves as a stark reminder that forcing connection always carries devastating consequences. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #Obsession #IndeNavarrette #HorrorMovies #CinemaTok #PsychologicalThriller

@v1rtual_doll Sometimes it can def be the opposite, I know its animated but take kpop demon slayers lol, if they went straight to theaters they wouldn’t have gained sm traction, because only kpop fans would have been interested, but since it was easily available to those with netflix then it was able to reach a larger audience, I guess it really just depends on the kind of film and audience ur trying to reach
