Melba’s Restaurant@melbasharlem What an honor to be recognized at The Salvation Army Harlem Temple’s Annual Advisory Council Dinner! ✨ Harlem has poured so much into me, and I’ve always believed that when a community pours into you, you have a responsibility to pour right back. To be recognized for serving a community that has given me so much was incredibly meaningful. I was honored alongside Dr. Iesha Sekou of Street Corner Resources and the Mount Sinai Hospital Emergency Department, two incredible examples of what it means to show up and serve. And there was so much love in that room! Thank you to my long time friend Chef @marcuscooks for surprising me and showing up and speak about our joirney , and to my dear, dear friend @cheflomonaco for the beautiful and deeply personal video tribute. 🙏🏾 Seeing the young people from @harlemvillageacademies share their own special tribute made the evening even sweeter. As a proud board member, the HVA students have such a special place in my heart as their commitment and desire for education is second to none! Thank you to the incomparable @egperry1 @saharlemtemple and @harlemthrive for bringing our community together to celebrate service, leadership, and the people doing the work every day. I left that room with a full heart and an even greater commitment to keep pouring into the community that continues to pour into me. Harlem, I love you. 🧡
