Wind gusts could reach 70 mph in some areas, threatening to bring down trees and power lines, while heavy rain raises the risk of flash flooding and major travel disruptions. Along the coast, high tides could worsen flooding and severe beach erosion, with some voluntary evacuations already underway in New Jersey.
