If you showed this exact frame to a movie fan back in 2008, nobody would have believed it was real. Sony held the exclusive film rights to Spider-Man, the Guardians of the Galaxy were virtually unknown, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe was only just beginning with Iron Man. Seeing Star-Lord hold an Iron Spider in a headlock on an alien planet remains the ultimate symbol of how wildly ambitious superhero cinema became.
