Though his movements were more extreme, An NJ.com analysis tracked 78 high-profile football transfers this offseason. “Parents want the best for their kids,” said Tom Mullahey, Clifton’s athletic director and past president of the Super Football Conference. “They think they’re doing the best by their kids, and I don’t think kids want to put the time in to build a program. @jd6261 Where does he live? That’s where he should play. If he doesn’t live in Washington Township, then he shouldn’t play there. He can go to any private school he wants, but taxpayers shouldn’t pay for a kid that doesn’t live in the township.

@anthony.perfetti Seems like people don’t mind school choice for sports . Just when it’s school choice for any kid and your local school loses funding

@alexaltemus14 South jersey is ridiculous when it comes to transferring and going to other schools. you should either go to your hometown high school or go to private school. not choose between different public schools like how Winslow was getting kids from all over South Jersey to become an absolute powerhouse and the small group one schools are suffering because of it.

@fourseasonssportsgroup 💯 The question shouldn’t simply be “Should I transfer?” It should be “Why am I transferring?” A move should have a purpose—development, academics, opportunity, environment and long-term fit all matter. @txgeisel This is all ridiculous- there is already no consistency, loyalty among players or team building in college sports so why are we now allowing it to happen in HS. Teaches all the wrong things - me versus we. And yes, academics do matter. Anyone who’s played sports at a high level would understand this.
