Jane Lord@the_little_end_cottage 💚🌳💚🌳💚 All I wanted to do was give my two lollipop trees a little trim. 🌿✂️ So, as always, I put a big sheet over the pots to catch the clippings. And, as always, Murphy immediately decided that I had put it there specifically for him. 😂 Eventually I got him to move … only for the nosey neighbours to arrive. The cows had come to see what was going on and apparently my lilac tree looked far more appetising than anything growing in their own field. So I had to move the poor tree out of reach, getting there just in time! They also decided to give my camellia a little prune while they were here, but that’s nothing new, they do it every year, and I use the word prune very loosely. Thank goodness they only do one side of it. 🫣 By this point Murphy had started barking at them, sensing my growing distress, so he was sent inside. Meanwhile, my beautifully planned topiary session had completely descended into chaos. The cows, naturally, were completely unbothered. They ignored me, finished their brunch and eventually trotted off into the distance … leaving me, my rather strangely shaped camellia and two very neglected lollipop trees. Just another perfectly peaceful gardening day at the cottage. I got here in the end though! ☺️ Oh and before I forget, have you noticed my Erigeron Karvinskianus? Just look at it self seeding on the garden path!
