When we are angry, we are resisting what has happened because some part of us believes the situation can still be corrected, repaired, or made right. Grief, by contrast, arrives when that hope disappears. It is the painful recognition that something has been permanently lost and lies beyond our ability to change. In this sense, the movement from anger to grief represents the difficult transition from fighting reality to accepting what cannot be undone.
