🇺🇸 ARMY CAPTAIN BIANCA WILKERSON DIES WHILE DEPLOYED OVERSEAS The U.S. Army has identified Capt. Bianca C. Wilkerson, 37, of Norfolk, Virginia, as the latest U.S. service member to die while deployed in support of overseas operations connected to the Iran conflict. Wilkerson died on September 18, 2026, while supporting operations in the Middle East. According to the Army, her death was the result of a non-combat-related incident. Defense officials said she experienced a medical emergency while aboard a military flight traveling toward Saudi Arabia. The exact cause remains under investigation. Wilkerson was assigned to U.S. Army Central and Third Army at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, and was deployed to Doha, Qatar. She was also posthumously promoted to major following her death. Her military career included service as a transportation officer and leadership positions with Army units, including the 25th Infantry Division. Her awards included the Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal. Fellow soldiers remembered her as a leader who took her responsibilities seriously.
