NC Weather Authority@ncwx_authority ⛔️Yup, that’s Highway 12 South of Oregon Inlet on Pea Island (Hatteras Island) in Dare County on the Outer Banks. There’s a road down there where high tide is absolutely hammering it, and it's doing additional damage. It’ll remain closed tonight, and I’m guessing tomorrow and probably Saturday, if not longer, based on my experience with this. NCDOT says there’s no ETA on reopening. Things are looking good over on Ocracoke. I expect sound class ferries to the mainland to resume tomorrow afternoon at the earliest, but definitely Saturday to and from Ocracoke! If you have travel plans to and from Ocracoke, you should be fine after tomorrow! -Ethan
