The Toronto Zoo is asking the public to help name its newest baby wombat, an adorable female southern hairy-nosed wombat nicknamed a “little potato.” The zoo says she’s still spending plenty of time in her mom’s pouch but is becoming braver and starting to peek out and explore.⁠ ⁠ Toronto residents can vote for the baby wombat’s name until Sept. 30. Southern hairy-nosed wombats are native to Australia and can live for decades — the Toronto Zoo previously housed one that reached 34 years old.⁠ ⁠ #TorontoCulture #Toronto #TorontoZoo #Wombat #TorontoAnimals
