Russia continues its massive attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, killing civilians and children and destroying the infrastructure that keeps millions of people alive. As winter approaches, Russia is striking energy facilities, warehouses, postal infrastructure, transport and other critical civilian systems — everything people need for heat, food, communication and basic survival. This is happening openly, in the 21st century. And while Ukrainians are being killed under missile and drone attacks, Putin publicly complains about attacks on Russian facilities and demands that the world listen to him. Yet the same Russian leadership is still being invited to international forums, treated as a partner and urged to negotiate. How can this be explained to the people of Ukraine? The world knows exactly where the source of this war is. The problem is not hidden. It is not unreachable. The person responsible is known, visible and accessible to the international community. So why does the world continue to treat this as if there were no way to stop it? How many more Ukrainian children have to die? How many more nights must Kyiv spend under ballistic missiles and drones? How much more destruction is required before words about peace are accompanied by real action? Please do not ask Ukraine to endure more while the aggressor is given more time and more opportunities to strike. Ukraine needs protection, not sympathy after every attack. Stop the killing. Protect civilians. Strengthen Ukraine’s air and missile defense. Increase the pressure on the aggressor.
