Katie Couric@katiecouric In a ruling issued just after midnight on Thursday, a federal judge granted MS NOW, CNN, and Politico a 14-day temporary restraining order and told the White House to “immediately return, reinstate, and restore,” the outlets’ press credentials. However, some journalists employed by the three outlets claim they were denied entry to the White House early Thursday morning, according to @cnn. The three banned outlets sued the Trump administration on Monday after being barred access to the White House without any prior notice. U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Kelly, a Trump appointee, wrote in his ruling that the news outlets were “likely to succeed in showing that their hard passes were revoked without constitutionally adequate due process.” He added, “individuals must receive notice and an opportunity to be heard before the Government deprives them of a constitutionally protected interest.” Judge Kelly also commented on the Justice Department’s argument that the ban was due to national security concerns. He wrote, “For one thing, nothing in the record that predates this suit suggests that the revocation of Plaintiffs’ hard passes was motivated by national security concerns. Certainly, that is not what President Trump said when he announced that he was ‘banning’ Plaintiffs from the White House —instead, he focused on the alleged lack of truthfulness and negativity of Plaintiffs’ reporting.” After the ruling, Theodore J. Boutrous, the lawyer representing the three news outlets, told CNN “This is a strong ruling vindicating freedom of the press, due process and the rule of law. We greatly appreciate the court’s swift action.”

@hughschurtz When we finally be relieved when it’s realized he will do whatever his spoiled little toddler a** wants to do. The Supreme Court gave him Carte Blanche to break every law as has the Republicans & some Democrats in Congress … why cover him in the News … this is an evil dictatorship.
