MBTA@thembta 🚏Blocking bus stops and lanes will cost you. Beginning October 1, we will issue advisory notices to motor vehicles parked in bus stops and parked or standing in bus lanes as part of an educational period for our new Automated Camera Enforcement program. Fines begin January 1. Automated Camera Enforcement will help improve safety, accessibility, and reliability for our buses and all riders. The program ensures that buses can pull up to the curb, deploy ramps, and fully fit within a bus stop, keeping service moving safely and seamlessly. After this educational period, violators will be subject to fines, ranging from $25 - $125, beginning January 1, 2027. Incidents will be captured automatically by cameras on MBTA buses and reviewed by a team of people to confirm if a violation has occurred. @sumtingwongfella Lets just shut the city down after 3pm because bus/bike lanes won't share the single lanes with rideshare activity, mail/package couriers and delivery drivers! And emergency vehicles? Fuhgeddaboudit!
@jonmanskier2 All the bike & bus lanes are a disgrace! There never is enough bike or buses to warrant any of them! And none of them last longer than a few blocks! They should all be ignored and majority of them you have to go in if you want to turn right or go on cross streets! Laughable at best !
