The San Francisco Standard@sfstandard Giants analyst and former player Mike Krukow’s final week on the job after more than 30 years in the broadcast booth made for heavy hearts in the NBC Sports Bay Area studio. Krukow, 74, is one of the most beloved local broadcasters in baseball. He and partner Duane Kuiper, who announced Sunday that he has been diagnosed with throat cancer, are the longest-running broadcast duo in the majors. They’re clearly the biggest gamers in the organization, who could have called it quits years ago but pushed forward because of their love of their craft, their team, and their fans. “Like Hank Greenwald said, you might get a bad game, but there’s no excuse ever for a bad broadcast.
