An anniversary limited edition without an anniversary premium. That is the actual story here. For the Overseas’ 30th anniversary, Vacheron Constantin revisits a combination already available in regular production: white gold and blue. The novelty is more specific. The saturated blue of ref. B945 gives way to a lighter, less intense azure on ref. H119, carried across the calendar counters and through to the matching moon-phase disc. Mechanically, nothing changes. At just 4.05 mm, the 276-component automatic Calibre 1120 QP/1 allows the 41.5 mm watch to remain only 8.1 mm thick. It drives the day, date, month, leap-year cycle and moon phase, and runs at 2.75 Hz. The compromise is a 40-hour power reserve — modest by current standards for a complication best kept running. The 200-piece edition costs EUR 140,000, the same as the corresponding regular-production white-gold model. For once, limited production adds scarcity but no surcharge. The choice is therefore not between more or less watch, but between two quite different ideas of blue.
